Ash Wednesday

Today we begin our Lenten series "Love Life" sponsored by the Brothers of the Society of St. John the Evangelist.  The first video can be found here.  The transcript of the video is below it, just in case you can't actually watch it.

The questions to ponder today are "Where can you know abundant life? Where can you still grow?"

The first question refers to John 10:10:  "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Does your answer to that first question change any with the addition of the Bible verse?

  1. For me, abundant life is, for the most part, tied to Montana, where I have always maintained, we are surrounded by God. All I need to do is look around, and I know we are beloved of God. Abundance hasn't been tied up with money, but rather with the ability to grow and learn - both in spiritual ways and in knowledge and skills. As a human, I have infinite ways to grow, and so very much to learn. My habit is to choose at least one spiritual and one knowledge-based skill each year. This year, it's learning to be aware of God in all aspects of life, from washing dishes to events in life to church; and to learn acupressure/reflexology, so that I may more effectively assist those who might be experiencing discomfort. The goals change each year, as there are so many ways to grow.
